Below are just some of the passionate psychiatrists, psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, mindfulness coaches, and more who make up the Review Board.
Steven Gans, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and active supervisor, teacher, and mentor at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and practices at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts. Dr. Gans leads a team-based approach to treating patients with serious mental illnesses.
Akeem Marsh, MD, is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who has dedicated his career to working with children and families of medically underserved communities. He is also the co-editor of the book, “Not Just Bad Kids: The Link Between Adversity and Disruptive Behavior."
Rachel Goldman, PhD, FTOS, is a licensed psychologist and clinical assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine. She is also a speaker and wellness expert specializing in stress management and health behavior change, as well as weight management and eating behaviors. She serves on leadership boards of The Obesity Society and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Daniel B. Block, MD, is an award-winning, board-certified psychiatrist who operates a private practice in Pennsylvania. Dr. Block is a staunch patient advocate and was awarded the Medical Service Advisor Award in 2000 for his work with New Directions, a chapter of the DBSA (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance).
Huma Sheikh, MD, is a board-certified neurologist, specializing in migraine and stroke. She is affiliated with Mount Sinai of New York and co-founded the Migraine and Vascular Section for the American Headache Society. Dr. Sheikh has received many honors including Teacher of the Year at Mount Sinai-Beth Israel Hospital.
Sara Clark is an EYT 500-hour certified Vinyasa yoga and mindfulness teacher, lululemon Global Yoga Ambassador, model, and writer. Her online yoga and meditation classes are available on SHAPE, Yoga Today, Prevention, and YogaGlo, and she teaches 1000+ yoga practitioners in New York City's Bryant Park every summer.

Amy Morin, LCSW, is the Editor-in-Chief of Verywell Mind. She's also a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and international bestselling author. Her books, including "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do," have been translated into more than 40 languages. Her TEDx talk, "The Secret of Becoming Mentally Strong," is one of the most viewed talks of all time.
Rachel Berman, RD is SVP and Group General Manager, Family and Wellness, a registered dietitian, and published author. She has been with Dotdash Meredith for 10+ years and oversees the content and business strategies for Verywell Mind, Verywell Family, Parents, and Verywell Fit.
Kristen Altmeyer is currently the VP and General Manager of Verywell Mind, where she oversees all content and business strategies and leads the brand’s mission to provide trusted and empathetic mental health support.
Nick Ingalls, MA is the associate editorial director at Verywell Mind, managing new content production and editorial processes. He has been with Verywell since its inception in 2016.
Craig has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, leading sales and partnerships at top publishers and pharmaceutical companies. He is a go-to thought leader in the pharma field, with several media appearances on MM&M and other outlets.
Rob is a healthcare industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in both B-to-B and B-to-C marketing. Previously, he held roles at Time Inc, Everyday Health and FCB Health. Rob has worked with almost every top pharmaceutical company and brings deep industry knowledge and insight to Verywell.
