There's nothing like the sound of the V8 engine of an American pickup truck.

And right now, pick-up options are available from the entire Detroit trio with naturally aspirated V8 engines.

But for the 2022 model year, Toyota has ditched the Tundra's V8 and opted for a turbocharged six-cylinder engine.

Now it looks like Ram will soon follow suit by ditching

the beloved HEMI for the new 3.0-litre Hurricane engine.Stelantis announced that

"The Hurricane TwinTurbo I6 is North America's premier future internal

combustion engine for vehicles using the STLA Large and STLA frame platforms."

The STLA Large Platform is a global chassis used by 14 Stelantis brands. The STLA frame chassis is designed for full frame Stelantis vehicles such as Ram pickups.
