After a short break, Dodge was hit hard by the 1973 global oil crisis. Proper V8 muscle car production 

and ownership seemed volatile. You can see Charger calling him in a parade of model years that Motor Trend calls "meh." Finally, in 1978, 

Dodge removed the iconic vehicle from production.In the 1980s, several attempts were made with cheaper chargers, including

 a collaboration between Lee Iacocca and American motorsport king Carroll Shelby. 

Teamup has manufactured a variety of small engine chargers, 

including variations with turbochargers.

But in 1987, 

the Dodge Charger made history again.
