Square Enix Selling Tomb Raider, Deus Ex & Thief (And Their Studios As Well)

Forget Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard.

The most shocking gaming news of the year is that Square Enix has sold everything previously

owned by British publisher Eidos, Embracer Group, for $300 million.

The deal includes several well-known franchises including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy Of Kain

as well as the developers who built them: Crystal Dynamics and Guardians Of Galaxy maker EidosMontréal.

All were sold for $300 million (£239 million) to the Swedish media giant Embracer Group,

which has been acquiring games and other companies over the years,
